TCTMD: Statins started in kids with FH provide benefits in adulthood

TCTMD reports that starting statins during childhood in people with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) safely slows the progression of carotid intima-media thickness and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease events in adulthood, according to 20-year follow-up on patients previously enrolled in a randomized controlled trial.
