Dr. Ludwig explains that the basic problem is that we are eating and living in a way that puts our fat cells into calorie storage overdrive. Those fat cells suck up and store too many calories, leaving too few for the rest of the body. We think of obesity as a state of excess, but it’s really a state of starvation.
