Boston Globe: Dozens of doctors, scientists warn Mass. marijuana is ripe for ‘regulatory failure’

A Boston Globe front page story reports that dozens of local doctors and scientists criticized the state’s marijuana regulatory system Thursday, saying the current rules don’t adequately protect public health from high-potency cannabis products now sold legally at 19 stores around Massachusetts. Boston Children’s Sharon Levy, MD, MPH, was one of the doctors to voice concern in the statement and explains that a lot of the harms doctors are seeing related to marijuana use in teens and young adults are in the mental health realm, which are a little bit harder to objectify.
